JOB SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant will support the preparation, management, analysis, and reporting of the company’s financial records as an integral member of the accounting and finance team. As part of a growing and dynamic organization, this position encounters, performs, and learns a wide variety of things, and therefore requires versatility and a commitment to excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Posts vendor invoices and credit card transactions with accuracy (GL code, department, location, etc.)• Communicates with vendors to resolve account discrepancies with account reconciliations.
• Assists with preparation of customer invoices, including supporting documentation.
• Assists with customer and vendor payment activities and postings.
• Prepares and posts intercompany transactions and invoices.
• Reviews and summarizes general ledger account detail for accuracy or anomalies.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles other balance sheet accounts: assets, prepaid and accrued expenses, intercompany accounts, deposits/advances, loans, etc.
• Maintains an organized electronic file system for accounting and related documents.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
• At least three years of related experience required.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting systems.
